SCHENECTADY – Louise Simone Lane, 96, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 27th, surrounded by her loving family.
Louise was born in Schenectady on July 16, 1917 a daughter of the late Angelo and Josephine Civitello Simone. She attended Schenectady schools and worked as a clerk in the Schenectady County Library for many years. Louise's legacy of kindness, love and devotion will live on in all who knew and loved her. She was a member of the Young at Heart, Acey-Deucey Square Dancer Club and a communicant of The Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville.
Louise was predeceased by her beloved husband Peter, in 2011, after 71 years of marriage, and siblings, Christine Morelli, Anthony Simone and Lillian DuPont.
Survivors include her loving and devoted son, Richard Lane and his wife Elaine, of Galway; adoring grandchildren, Kathryn Jarosh and her husband Andrew, and Richard L. Lane and his wife Jacqueline, and a sister-in-law, Catherine DeLuke Simone, of Schenectady. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be held Friday at 7:30 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets, and then at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Saratoga Road, Glenville, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 8:30 am. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Louise to a charity of one's choice.
