SCHENECTADY – Lorraine F. Zotta, 92, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Ellis Hospital after living a faith-filled full life.
Lorraine was born and educated in Schenectady, the daughter of the late William and Audrey Scott Casey. She was a 1949 graduate of the former Mt. Pleasant High School. Lorraine spent her younger years, raising and nurturing her children, before starting her 22-year career with the former Carl Co., as a data entry clerk.
Lorraine was a patient, kind, and loving woman, devoted to her family; she enjoyed the holidays, parties, and reunions. She was an avid reader and movie watcher and cared deeply for animals, especially the family Rottweilers. She was a devout communicant of St. Anthony’s Church.
Lorraine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael T. Zotta, and her siblings, Audrey L. Preston, Kathleen M. Isabella, and William B. Casey.
She is survived by her loving and devoted family; her children, Michael (Michele) Zotta, David G. (Helene Vincent) Zotta, Mary (Bernard) Beckmann, Margaret T. (Thom LaMalfa) Zotta and William J. Zotta; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The Zotta family is grateful to Honest Care; Eddy Visiting Nurses and the staff of Ellis Hospital A-4; for the care, compassion, and dignity shown to their mother.
Services will be held on Friday at 9 am at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Anthony’s Church. Interment will follow in Memory’s Garden, Colonie.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 to 7.
