GLENVILLE – Lewis A. Polsinelli, Sr. 98, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at Ellis Hospital after a brief illness.
Lewis was born in the Goosehill Neighborhood on September 17, 1922, a son of the late Daniel and Pasqua Cerone Polsinelli. Lew attended Thomas Corners School in Glenville. He honorably served in the US Army during WWII. Lew learned his skills as a master homebuilder working alongside his dad from a young age. He co-owned Schenectady Lumber Company and DAP Builders with his siblings. Lewis was a member of the Builders Association, Burnt Hills Lanes; a devoted communicant of St. Anthony’s Church, where he served as an usher and was a member of its Holy Name Society. Lewis was a man of integrity, generosity, and devoted to his family, community, and faith.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Vincent Polsinelli, Florence Restifo, and Anthony Polsinelli.
Lewis is survived by his beloved wife of 73 blessed years, Virginia Valentino Polsinelli, whom he married on June 15, 1947, devoted sons, Lewis (Darlene) Polsinelli, Jr., and Ronald (Lucia) Polsinelli, Sr.; loving sister, Philomena Mastroianni; adoring grandchildren, Ronald (Marie) Polsinelli, Jr., Cynthia (Jamie) McCloskey and Candice Huhtala; great-grandchildren, Marcus, Stella, Owen, Giavanna and Enzo; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 1 pm at St. Anthony’s Church, 331 Seward Place. Interment will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Glenville.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at St. Anthony’s Church on Saturday from 11:30 are until the Mass.
