ROTTERDAM – Laurie A. Powers, 62, entered into eternal peace on Saturday after a brief battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
Laurie was born in Schenectady, the daughter of Rudy and Antoinette Valentino. She was a 1968 graduate of Linton High School, with proficient Stenographer skills. Laurie traveled extensively throughout the past years, passing that passion along to her precious daughter. She was an active communicant of St. Adalbert's Church, where she was an Eucharist minister and formatted the weekly bulletins.
She is survived by her adoring parents; her best friend and beloved husband of 23 years, James H. Powers, her loving daughter, Tiera Powers, loving step children, Duane and Sheri Powers, Chad Powers and Craig and Rebbeca Powers; her devoted siblings, Dominick Valentino and his wife Kim, David Valentino and his wife Lynn, all of Rotterdam and James Valentino, of Schenectady; her in-laws, Grace Kelley, Ronald and Judy Powers and Cindy and Mark Lavigne; her lifelong friend, Sheree LeMay; a dear friend Holly Powers; an aunt, Hella Valentino; and many special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Mass will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 9am at St. Adalbert Church, 550 Lansing Street, with Fr. Gaffigan officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
