Katherine Mae (Watrous) Tucker (Kay)

SCHENECTADY -Katherine Mae (Watrous) Tucker (Kay), 92 passed away on Saturday, November 30th peacefully at home.
Kay was born on September 1, 1927 in the little town of Smith Basin, NY weighing only 2 lbs, the daughter of the late Clifton and Alice (Huntley) Watrous. Originally from Whitehall NY, Kay move to and settled in Schenectady in the early 1940’s. In 1946 she met the love of her life Stewart Tucker, while working at the Federal Bake Shop in downtown Schenectady. They were married April 26th 1947 and remained in love for 68 yrs until his passing in 2015. Kay was a homemaker and waitress by trade she was employed for 25 years at the former Mohawk Club in Schenectady, as well as 14 yrs at Friendly’s Restaurant in Rotterdam, where she retired at age 75. Kay was a Virgo and was always a straight shooter, always said what was on her mind.
She loved her crosswords, playing cards, baking and just enjoying her backyard, but her greatest love was of her family and dear friends. She was Mom and Gram to so many others outside the immediate family and always opened her home to her children’s friends.
Katherine was pre-deceased by her parents; siblings Laura Saladin, Marion Donaldson, Roy Watrous, Helen Denno and Gladys DiCocco; sons-in-law Innocencio (Efren)Baldovino and Mark Reedy.
She is survived by her children, Irene Denise Baldovino of Utica,
Sharon (Robert) DuBois of Vicksburg MS, Stephen (Deborah) Tucker of Ballston Lake, Carol Tucker-Reedy of Schenectady, Michelle (Frank) Barbera of Rotterdam and Dale Tucker of Schenectady; ten grandchildren, Anita (Andrew) Thomas of Deerfield , Philip (Adry) Baldovino of Rodando Beach CA, Robert (Diana) DuBois of Vicksburg MS, Christopher (Tracy) DuBois of Bastrop LA , Renee (Kevin) Wood of Houston TX, Joseph (Jennifer) Paige of Schenectady, Jalon (Maria) Blunt of Philadelphia PA, Kimberly (Joseph) Haley of Rotterdam, Joseph (Xiomara) Barbera of Amsterdam, Michael Tucker of Guilderland NY; 31 great-grandchildren and many cherished nieces and nephews and dear friends.
Services will be held at 4pm on Saturday, December 14th at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Saturday the 14th of December from 1 pm until the service. Those wishing may make a memorial contribution in Kay's memory to
the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society at https://mohawkhumane.org or 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY 12204; the Lions Club at thttps://www.lionsclubs.org or a charity of ones choice.
