SCHENECTADY – Katherine J. Pacelli, 75, of Foster Avenue, died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Baycare Alliant Hospital in Florida, after a brief illness.
Katie was born and educated in Saranac Lake, a daughter of the late John and Evelyn Clark Highland.
Katie and her husband Eugene were the co-founders of King Cork Wine and Liquor on Watt Street, Schenectady. She was well known and respected in the community that she so proudly served for years. Katie was a devoted communicant of St. Anthony’s Church.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 54 years, Eugene Pacelli whom she married in 1955; Children Jean Pacelli and her husband Scott Miller of Reston, VA; Roseanne Henley and her husband Jim of Clifton Park; Tom Pacelli and his wife Elisa of Latham; Siblings John Highland and his wife Beverly of Vischer Ferry and Ella Highland of San Francisco, CA. A great joy in Katie’s life were her eight grandchildren on whom she made a wonderful and lasting impression; Nick Henley, Stephanie Henley, Rob Pacelli, Dan Henley, Ben Miller, Shane Pacelli, Sam Pacelli and Avery Miller. Survivors also include several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday morning at 10 AM from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets, then to St. Anthony’s Church, Seward Place, where a Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM. Interment will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Glenville.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Friday morning from 8 to 10 AM.
Memorial contributions may be made in Katie’s memory to the American Lung Association, 3 Winners Circle, Albany, New York 12205.
