ROTTERDAM – Joseph C. Martin, 73, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, June 21, 2025. He was the son of the late Robert P. Martin and Anna Pollak Martin.
Born in Schenectady on November 22, 1951, Joe was a 1969 graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School. He spent more than 30 years serving his community as a rural postal carrier in the Scotia/Glenville area. After retiring, he continued working as a taxi driver for the Electric City Taxi Company.
Joe was a natural when it came to cars—he could fix, fine-tune, and fiddle with just about any vehicle, his own or anyone else’s. A true Chrysler man, he was always tinkering with his beloved ’74 Imperial, though he had a special fondness for his ’96 Cadillac Seville.
Joe had a unique way of looking at the world— but that was part of his charm. His unconventional thinking, sharp wit, and deep intelligence were just how he operated. Above all, Joe was a loyal friend, maintaining close relationships that stood the test of time.
In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by a brother, Robert Martin.
Joe is survived by his sisters, Mary Martin and Alice (Christopher) Sparks; dear and loyal friends, Lisa Sarnacki and Chet Boniewski; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held in the Pollak Family Plot on Thursday, July 31st at 11 am at Cyrils & Method Cemetery.
