ROTTERDAM – Joseph L. DeJesus, 35, entered into eternal rest with his beloved wife at his side on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, after being stricken at home.
Joe was born in Brooklyn on June 27, 1987, the son of Sandy Irizarry and Joseph DeJesus. He was educated upstate. He was a hardworking and industrial young man, working since the age of 14. Joe was employed as a painter for United Painters Union #0201 in Menands. Joe was large in stature with a heart to match. He embraced his family with love and enjoyed all of the time he was able to spend with them. Joe was passionate about riding his motorcycle, belonging to several clubs; shooting his guns, playing basketball, and eating his seafood.
Joe was the oldest of his eight siblings and was predeceased by two brothers, Angel Irizarry and Ceasar Soriano.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Missy Salisbury DeJesus, whom he married in St. Luke’s on April 10, 2014; loving daughter, Kaylei DeJesus; loving parents, Sandra and Angel Pacheco; siblings, Jennifer (Jevon) Banks, Nicholas Irizarry, Krystal Pacheco, Stephanie Pacheco, and Angel L. Pacheco, Jr.; uncle, Luis Irizarry; mother and father-in-law, Linda and Charles Salisbury.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 8 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am at St. Luke’s Church, State Street. Interment will follow in Park View Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Monday from 4-7 pm.
