Joseph David Boyer Sr.

Joseph D. Boyer Sr. passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency on January 26th, 2021, surpassing the doctor's expectations of surviving only five years after his diagnosis over 14 years ago. An avid lover of rock n' roll, Joe was always found in one of his favorite band t-shirts, often spending late nights staying up listening to one of his many records. He was one class away from completing a degree in psychology, with a goal to help those struggling with addiction. Joe was a happy and peaceful man who always had something to say with a smile that would immediately brighten a room. Always surrounded by family and friends, Joe was the man to make sure a good time was had and memories were made. Joe leaves behind April Gabree, his partner of 31 years, along with his sons and daughters Dylan, Corrina, Amber (Timothy) Dalland, Joseph Jr., Richard, Audley, and Jade, his grandchildren Austin, Alexander, Timothy Jr., Athena, and Eliana, Joe's mother LaiLani Boyer (Pink), and many family and friends who will be left with lasting memories. Calling hours will be held at Ditoro & Rossi Funeral Home at 501 Union St. Schenectady, NY 12305 during the hours of 4-7 p.m. on Monday February 1st, 2021. A gathering will be held the next day on Tuesday February 2nd, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home with a procession to Memory Gardens at 983 Watervliet-Shaker Road In Albany, NY 12205, where Joe will be peacefully laid to rest next to his son Christopher, who passed away suddenly on March 13th, 2020.
