Joseph E. Bleau

ROTTERDAM - Joseph E. Bleau, 58, passed away on March 8, 2022, at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness.
Joe was born in Schenectady and attended Mt. Pleasant High School. He worked for over 20 years for Accurate Trash Removal and for the past 6 years has worked maintenance for the Galesi Group. Joe was a gentle giant with a heart of gold. He treasured his family and the time they spent together. He was an avid golfer, loved classic rock, NASCAR, and watching football.
Joe was predeceased by his grandparents, Alice and Edward Bleau, and a daughter, Sabrina Berko.
He is survived by his loving family; his mother Barbara Olechowski; his fiancé of 21 years, Arleen Matay; and her children who Joe raised as his own, Michael (Nikki) Weddle, Julie Weddle, and Victor Matay; many grandchildren who Joe adored.
Services will be held Tuesday at 12 noon at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, with Pastor Jay Richmond, officiating. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Relatives can call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Monday from 3 pm-6 pm.
