ROTTERDAM – Joan F. Hewitt, 61, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 15, 2021.
Joan was born in Albany a daughter of the late Robert and Virginia Oliver Cramer. She was a graduate of Shaker High School. For over 40 years, Joan made an impact on the community as a selfless caretaker, first at the OD Heck Center; for many years at Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center, and was most honored to care for her mom in later years. She kept her family in her heart and treasured the times spent together. Joan along with many family members is a diehard Red Sox Fan.
She was predeceased by her parents, beloved husband, John Hewitt; brother, Robert Cramer, Jr. and a nephew, Micah Cramer.
Joan was blessed with the love of her surviving family; daughter, Janel (Robert) Gagliardi, son, Jeffrey Hewitt; grandchildren, Antonio, Christian, Makayla, Chole, and Benjamin; great-grandchildren, Leilani and Jay’vion; siblings, Carol Ferrucci, Steve Cramer, Sue Searle, Tom Cramer, and Pat Cahill; many nieces and nephews.
