BALLSTON SPA – Jennie Varriale Gresham, 91, entered into eternal rest on Saturday at Ellis Hospital, after a brief illness.
Jennie was born in Schenectady, the daughter of the late Alfonso and Josephine Monzo Varriale. She attended Schenectady Vocational High School. Jennie worked for WT Grant’s in the hardware department where she loved her work, including making thousands of keys. Jennie was a loving and caring homemaker to her husband and sons.
Jennie was predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years, Douglas G. Gresham; her siblings and their spouses, Patsy and Anna Varriale, Albert and Ruth Varriale, Margaret and Arthur Pacelli and Harry Cascini.
Survivors include her loving children, Douglas and Betty Gresham, of Montvale, VA and Paul Gresham, of Pineville, NC; two grandchildren; two great –grandchildren; siblings, Mary Pallante, Helen Varriale, Yolanda Cascini, Elinor Metevia and John and Dolores Varriale; several nieces and nephews.
Jennie’s family would like to extend special thanks to everyone who assisted in Jennie’s care.
A Memorial service will be held Wednesday at 12 noon at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Street with the Rev. Richard A. Varriale, Sr. officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Wednesday from 11am to the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jennie’s memory to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308.
