SCHENECTADY – Jean B. Stanton, 94, entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Ellis Hospital after a brief illness.
Jean was born in Schenectady on September 1, 1924 a daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Flynn) St. John. She graduated from the former Nott Terrace High School. Jean was a homemaker who cherished caring for her family. She was a talented musician and taught guitar at Stephen St John Music School on Hamilton Street. Jean was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Columbiettes, serving as past president and state representative and a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church.
Jean was predeceased by her parents; beloved husband Richard Glenn Stanton; son Mark Stanton and brother Stephen St. John, Jr.
She is survived by her loving children, Marcia (Joe) Elacqua and Gary Stanton; grandchildren, Stephen McCabe, Trisha Roth, Amy (Dan) Crockford and Nicole Elacqua; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Andrew, Shaunna, Brianna, Dylan and Noah; and a daughter-in-law Dina Stanton.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 10 am at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, with Fr. Dominic Isopo, officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9 to 10 am.
