Janice Marie Iovinelli Gayowski

SCHENECTADY – Janice M. Gayowski, 56, went peacefully home to the Lord on Sunday at Ellis Hospital.
Janice was born in Schenectady on August 6, 1956, the daughter of the late Salvatore 'Sammy' and Carmella Rosamino Iovinelli. She was a 1973 graduate of Linton High School and attended Europa Beauty School. She was a licensed beautician, locally and in New Jersey. She located to Wenonah, NJ where she resided with her husband for 25 years. She returned to Schenectady in 2005.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Walter E. Gayowski, in 2005 after 24 years of marriage.
She is survived by her adoring daughters, Alison and Victoria Gayowski, both of Schenectady; devoted sisters, Annette D'Auge and her husband Andrew, of Schenectady and Deborah Alfano and her husband Vincenzo, of Albany; a brother-in-law, Paul Gayowski, of OK; many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, an uncle and cousins.
Services will be held on Friday at 10 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets and then to St. Anthony's Church were a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Friday morning beginning at 9 am.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Janice's memory.
