SCHENECTADY – Janet M. Craig Johnson, 75, passed into eternal rest on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Focus Rehabilitation in Utica, with her loving sister Suzi at her side.
Janet was born in Albany on November 8, 1941 a daughter of the late Thomas Craig and Helen (Stevens) Ippoliti. Janet attended Hudson Valley Community College and was the first woman to graduate with a degree in Construction Technology. Janet located to N Miami Beach, FL, with the love of her life, Sgt. Major William M. Johnson, they married May 10, 1986. Janet was an owner/operator of Welfit Kids Shoes, in Coral Springs, FL. Janet was loving, kind and generous; she always thought of others before herself and was devoted to her family.
She was predeceased by her parents; Lewis and Helen Ippoliti; beloved husband, William M. Johnson, and her siblings, Jimmy Craig, Steven L. Ippoliti and Mary F. Ippoliti
Janet is survived by her devoted sister Susan H. LaRose, of Schenectady, step-children, Sharon (Robert) Malison and their sons, Zachary and Joshua and Sandy Johnson; sister-in-law, Sherry Craig; 13 nieces and nephews; 26 great-nieces, and nephews who were her heart and soul; and several cousins.
A Mass will be celebrated 9 am on Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Avenue, Albany.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5 to 7 pm.
