SCHENECTADY- James H. Vandewalker, Jr., 53 passed away suddenly on Wednesday at home, after being stricken.
Jim was born in Gloversville on May 30, 1961 a son of Shirley Vandewalker and the late James H. Vandewalker, Sr. He was a 1979 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and apprenticed with Local #201, International Painters & Allied Tapers Union. He worked construction and at local restaurants as a line cook.
Jim embraced life, enjoying each day. He was a body builder and with dedication and hard work, he earned a 3rd degree black belt in Martial Arts. Jim was a gun collector, outdoorsman and an avid hunter. He was also a fan of the NY Yankee's and his beloved Miami Dolphins. Above all, Jim enjoyed and cherished his daughters and grandson; to him they were his world.
Survivors include his loving mother, Shirley Vandewalker; beloved daughters, Jamie Hurd, of Gloversville and Ashley Vandewalker, of Schenectady; cherished grandson, Noah James Vandewalker; siblings, Terri Carmen, Marc Vandewalker, Lisa Vandewalker- Bruchal. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Private services were held for his family. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
