James F. Kingsland

March 15, 1938 — March 15, 2012

GLENVILLE – James F. Kingsland, 74, died Thursday morning at his residence with his loving sister and son by his side.
Jim was born in Niskayuna on September 3, 1937, a son of the late Merrill and Theresa Bourdeau Kingsland. He attended Nott Terrace High school and served as a fireman in the military. Jim was a master carpenter and lived for over 40 years in Okeechobee, Florida, he returned home five years ago.
Jim believed in the mystery of life and to live it to its fullest. He was known for his one liners and hearty laugh. He had a kind heart and was always for the under-dog and less fortunate. If driving past a homeless person, he would say "Stop the car, I want to give him a few bucks".
Jim was a great movie buff; he loved old westerns and enjoyed watching TV, especially the National Geographic and History channels as well as catching as much football, boxing, and tennis matches possible. He loved to sing (and had a good voice). He was quite a dapper dresser and his signature look was a Pandora hat and sunglasses. He loved the sun – sunrises/sunsets and his children. We will cherish his memory and the many treasures of love he shared.
He's now embraced in the warm loving arms of our Lord, and he has said "Welcome home Jim".
Jim was predeceased by his sons, James Kingsland Jr. and Robbie Kingsland and his siblings Delbert and Robert Kingsland, Adrienne Garrow and Vicki Sheehan.
He is survived by his loving children, Timothy "TK" Kingsland and his girlfriend Tracey Budlong of Schenectady and Jamie Barry of Ballston Spa; devoted siblings Doris Trost and her husband Carroll, Harvey Kingsland and his wife Dorothy, all of Brewton, AL, Timothy Kingsland and his wife Kelly and Merrilene Kingsland, all of Glenville, Gary Kingsland of Schenevus, Kathy Kingsland of Glenville, and Daniel Kingsland and his wife Linda of Schenectady; dear friend Angela Castiglione; and many dear nieces and nephews.
Services and interment will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made in Jim's memory to American Kidney Foundation, 6110 Executive Boulevard, Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852.
