Town of Florida- Ines M. Colucci, 49, died Tuesday at St. Peter’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, from leiomyosarcoma, a rare cancer.
Ines was born in Brooklyn, a daughter of Clara Campano Sorrentino and the late John Sorrentino. She was a 1979 graduate of Linton High School, then attended Hudson Valley Community College and Schenectady County Community College, where she obtained an associates degree in Accounting. She worked at the Grand Union for 18 years and the Veolia Water North America Operating Services in Schenectady as an administrative assistant. She was a treasure to all who met her. Her smile and voice would put anyone at ease. She was a friend to all of God’s creatures. No animal around her would go unloved or unfed, be it domestic or wild, right down to her beloved fish and frogs. So gentle a spirit, she would capture a housefly and release it outside after making sure it was a safe place with plenty to eat.
Ines was predeceased by her father, John Sorrentino; aunts, Ines and Maria Campano; sisters-in-law, Antoinette Colucci and Sophia Butwell.
Ines is survived by her beloved husband of 22 years, Timothy Colucci; loving mother, Clara Campano Sorrentino; siblings, John Sorrentino and his wife Kim of Milton, VT, Janice and her husband Andy Coppola, Jr. of Glenville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred Colucci and his wife Paula of Schenectady, Laura Colucci of Ossining and John Butwell of West Sand Lake; nieces and nephews, Alex Coppola, Brittany Sorrentino, Cassandra Coppola, Nicholas Sorrentino, Frederick Colucci, Lisa Colucci, Christine Vala, Laura Colucci, Nicholas Colucci, Anna Butwell and John Butwell Jr.; many loving cousins including Tommy Berlese and the Miranda Family; Ines is also survived by her beloved canine companions Bunny and Clyde.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, Union St., on Saturday morning at 9 AM. Interment to follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Glenville.
