SANFORD, Me. – Helen Mauriello DiSarro Williams, 95, formerly of Schenectady, passed away September 28, 2010, at the Newton Center in Sanford, ME.
Helen was born on September 1, 1915, to Vincenzo and Philomena Mauriello. She was a 1933 graduate of Nott Terrace High School. She was a loving wife, a remarkable mother and a loyal friend to many.
Helen was an accomplished artist and a faithful member of the Sacred Heart League at St. Anthony’s Church. She sang with the Thursday Musical Club and was a member of the St. Anthony’s Choir, where in 1940 she met her husband Nicholas DiSarro, who passed away in 1983.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Don Williams of Lebanon, ME. and formerly of Schenectady; daughters, Maria Rossi of Atlanta, and Jackie Ryan and her husband Paul of Albany, GA.; grandchildren, Laura Davidson and husband Alec Davidson, Marco Rossi, all of Atlanta, and Jessica Ryan McKinley and husband Sean McKinley of Oakland, CA.; a sister, Victoria Fontana of Dallas. Texas; a stepdaughter, Lori Tierney McCullough and husband Bill of Lebanon, ME.; stepson David Williams and wife Laura Williams of Gansevoort; step grandchildren, Heather and Karin Tierney and Adam and Amy Williams; great grand children Luca and Nico Davidson and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday morning at 10 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets, then to St. Anthony’s Church, Seward Place, where a Mass will be celebrated at 11 am. Interment to follow the Mass in St. John’s Cemetery, Brandywine Avenue.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi Ditoro Funeral Home, Sunday evening from 5 to 7 pm.
