SCHENECTADY –Gloria B. Mastro, 77, entered into eternal rest on Friday at Ellis Hospital after a very brief illness.
Gloria was born December 1, 1934 a daughter of the late Pasquale and Maria Louise Burro Aragosa. She was a graduate of the former Nott Terrace High School and received a degree from Spencer Business Institute. Gloria worked for the General Electric (KAPL) and later with the General Electric Machinery Apparatus Operations (MAO) as a group leader. She retired after many years of dedicated service. Gloria was a lively spirited youthful and generous woman, devoted to her loving family, neighbors and friends. She enjoyed traveling, the casinos, crossword puzzles, old movies and reading. She most enjoyed the time with her good friends in the Sunday Bowling League.
Gloria was predeceased by her beloved husband of 47 years, Rudolph "Rudy" Mastro; brothers, Frank Aragosa and Americo "Merf" Aragosa and a sister in law Yolanda O'Donnell.
She is survived by her loving children, Edward Mastro, of Staten Island and Noreen Mastro and her life partner Arlene Sherman, of Spencerport, NY; her loving companion Ed Reedy, of Schenectady; sister, Mary Fragomeni, of Schenectady; brothers and sisters in law, Glen Mastro, Gus Mastro, Dorothy Almond and Sr. Norina Mastro, MPV; her adoring extended family, Sue Parravani and Patty Reedy and their children; many dear nieces nephews and friends.
Services will be held on Wednesday morning at 9 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets, then to St. Anthony's Church, Seward Place, where a Mass will be celebrated at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Kings Road.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Tuesday evening from 4 to 8 pm.
