SCHENECTADY – Giuseppe Viglione, 74, of Avenue A, passed away peacefully Sunday morning at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Giuseppe was born in Airola, province of Benevento, Italy, the son of the late Fabio and Angela Viscariello Viglione. He was educated in Italy and immigrated to the United States in 1970. Giuseppe worked as a machinist for the General Electric Company for 23 years, retiring in 1993. He was a hard worker, and a devoted family man. Giuseppe loved the outdoors, he enjoyed gardening, hunting, making his own wine which he was proud to share with his family and friends. He was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Maria Viscariello Viglione, who were united in marriage March 22, 1961; a devoted son Carlo Viglione, of Delanson; siblings, Maria Viglione, Pasquale Viglione and Antonio Viglione all of Airola; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Tuesday morning at 9 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Street, and then to St. Anthony’s Church, 331 Seward Place, where a Mass will be celebrated at 10 am. Entombment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Monday from 4 pm to 8 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Giuseppe’s memory to St. Anthony’s Church, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN.
