Gerda Korla

SCHENECTADY – Gerda Korla, 95, formerly of Green Street, entered into eternal rest on March 17, 2021, at Samaritan Hospital.
Gerda was born in Muskau-Berg Germany a daughter of the late Emil and Berta Tomask Kepstein. With the help of her sister Frieda, Gerta escaped East Germany in 1945. She married her beloved, Paul Korla on August 31, 1949. Together they located to Schenectady in 1952. Gerda worked as a presser for Abelove’s Laundry and retired from Service Linen in 1990. She was a communicant of the former Holy Cross Church.
Gerda was predeceased by her husband Paul on October 31, 1995; her siblings, Frieda Korge and Alfred Kepstein.
Services will be held on Tuesday at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, at 10 am. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9 am until the Service.
