Fred Brown Hill Jr.

October 20, 1964 — October 17, 2024

SCHENECTADY - Fred Brown Hill, Jr., 59, passed away with honor on 10/17/2024 during a solemn honor walk, as a result of injuries he received in a home fire. He died as he lived—helping others. Through the selfless gift of his liver and kidneys, Fred will continue to save and improve many lives.
Fred was born in Colonie, NY, the son of Fred B. Hill, Sr., and Patricia Young. He graduated from Colonie High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army. Fred worked in construction for many years, sharing his insight and creative mind on numerous local projects, including with Kenny Peacock & Co. and Shear Roofing.
Fred was a special character—friend to all, extremely knowledgeable in sports, computers, and current affairs, and able to converse with anyone he met. A gaming extraordinaire, Fred also played the piano, guitar, and drums. He was quirky, fun, and generous, with a deep love for children, acting as a protector of all of God's children.
Above all, Fred was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He cherished his family and especially loved family gatherings at Thanksgiving and Christmas. He was also a cat lover. Fred married the love of his life, 2/20/2010. Jerri McIntosh Scranton Hill, and together they shared a deep, unbreakable bond.
Fred is survived by his parents, his beloved wife Jerri, his daughter, Nicole (Dominick) Adami, and the lights of his life—his grandchildren, Giana, twins Lilith and Everly, and Karalyn. He is also survived by his siblings, Scott Hill, Todd (Tammy) Hill, and Terry (John) Selkirk, as well as his sister-in-law, JoAnn (Brian) Cotterell, and nephews, Brian Cotterell and Chris (Meggan) Cotterell, who were like family to him. Fred was predeceased by his brother-in-law, William ‘Billy’ McIntosh, who was like a brother to him. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends also survive him.
Fred’s unique spirit, love for others, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Services for our Beloved Fred will be held in the near future.
