LAKE LUZERNE - Frank A. Varriale, 64, passed away on Tuesday at his residence, after an intensive battle with cancer. He now rests in eternal peace.
Frank was born in Schenectady on April 5, 1949 a son of the late Albert and Ruth Painter Varriale. He was a 1966 graduate of Linton High School and honorably served his country in the US Navy in 1968, as a Navel Seabee, stationed in Danang, Vietnam. Frank worked for Conrail, which became CSX in Selkirk for 33 years, retiring in 2009. Frank cherished his family, and was so very proud of their accomplishments. He loved his home in the Adirondacks, and was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his devoted son, Dr. Frank Varriale, of Kingston, PA; loving siblings, Helene Kirkham and her husband Robert, of Pattersonville, Rev. Richard Varriale and his wife Gail, of Simpsonville, SC and Ray Varriale and his wife Cindy, of Galway; his beloved girlfriend, Susan Dicks, and her granddaughter, Amanda Cable his aunts and uncle, Helen Varriale, John and Dolores Varriale, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be held Monday, at 10 am at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Street. Relatives and friends are invited to call. Interment with full military honors will take place at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville at 1PM.
