SCHENECTADY – Frank Iovinelli, 88, loving friend to all, entered peacefully and acceptingly into the Arms of the Lord on Thursday, September 13, 2018.
Frank was born on Front Street, September 6, 1930, son of Salvatore and Columbia DeCierno Iovinella. He graduated from Washington Irving and honorably served in the US Army. Frank worked for McNearney Distributors on State Street before his long career as a machinist with the General Electric in Building 69. Frank was a member of the Rotterdam Elks, and a faithful communicant at St. Anthony’s Church, participating as an Usher at weekly Masses. Frank was a man of integrity, devoted to his Lord, family and friends.
Frank was predeceased by his siblings, Antoinette Rotondo, Marion Izzo, Rose Diamante, Clara Isabella, Mary Venditti, Helen Fratine, Sammy Iovinelli and Dolores Berrian.
He is survived by his sister, Lorraine Maiorano, loving papa of Lori Salvador; special friend, Jean Salvador; cherished grandchildren, Jaclyn, Jared and Jacob Urys; niece, MaryAnn Rotondo, whom Frank attended to and cared for many years; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, who adored their uncle; and many lifelong friends.
Services will be held Tuesday at 9 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, then to St. Anthony’s Church, Seward Place, where a Mass will be celebrated at 10 am. Interment will follow in the Saratoga National Cemetery at 12:30 pm.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Monday from 4 to 7 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made in Franks’ memory to St. Anthony’s Restoration Fund.
