Florence T. Napolitana

SCHENECTADY - Florence T. Napolitana, 93, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday, October 27, 2022.
Florence was born in Schenectady, the daughter of the late Tomas and Maria Casas Turiel She graduated from the former Nott Terrace High School. She met and later married her husband Guy Napolitana on April 19, 1952. Like many women of her generation, she left the workforce after marriage and focused on raising her three children. She embraced her life as a homemaker; providing her family with love; the values needed to live well, and her rich Spanish heritage and traditions.
Florence lived a beautiful and dignified life. A woman of enduring love, patience, and grace, she was a caregiver for her mother-in-law and her mother. She provided comfort and solace to all and asked for little in return. She had a passion for learning and was an avid reader.
She was a true believer in the Lord’s love, protection, and guidance. Florence was a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony’s Church. She was active in many aspects of the parish; an annual feasta worker, and a lifetime member of the Sacred Heart League.
Florence was predeceased by her beloved Guy on November 15, 2007; and her brothers, Michael and Stephen Turiel.
She is survived by her loving children, Phyllis Napolitana, Dr. Guy T. (Patricia) Napolitana and Rita Perretta; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she cherished, Patrick (Laura) Perretta, Brian (Nicole) Perretta, Matthew Napolitana, Marc (Mary) Napolitana and Lauren Napolitana; Maria, Anthony and Andrew Perretta.
Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony’s Church at 12 noon. Interment will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9-11 am.
