Ferol L. (Grant) McClosky
Ferol "Cissie" McClosky passed away at her home in Scotia at the age of 69 on Thursday, July 30th. She was surrounded by her beautiful garden where she loved to spend her time.
Ferol will forever be cherished, remembered and loved by her devoted husband of 49 years, Ronald E. McClosky, her three sons, Michael (Rita) of Saratoga Springs, Mark (Kathryn) and Matthew (Ruth) both of Glenville, her grandchildren Samuel, Anna, Lucas, Billie and Charlie, her mother Mildred Dickershaid Dondero of Schenectady, and her brothers Kenneth (Olivia) Grant of Scotia and Dominick L. Dondero Jr. of Schenectady and many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Ferol was predeceased by her father, Dominick L. Dondero Sr.
Ferol was born on March 21st, 1946 in Schenectady, NY. She attended Linton High School, which is where she met Ron, the love of her life, at the age of fifteen. Ron and Ferol were united in marriage on August 28, 1966 and built their life together with their three boys in Scotia, NY. Ferol has always had an endless supply of love for her children and grandchildren. Her contagious smile warmed the hearts of her family and friends at every gathering. One could tell, just by being in her presence, that her family was her world.
Ferol was an avid gardener. She adored her backyard sanctuary of flowers and miniature statues almost as much as she adored her family. She also loved to cook and bake, teaching her sons and grandchildren whenever possible. Many enjoyed her legendary fudge, pizzelles and anginettis (Italian Lemon Drop cookies). Ferol was also passionate about her crocheting. One of her many selfless acts of love have been to provide warm blankets and hats to those in need. She also made time to make blankets for her family and friends, which will be treasured by several generations.
She is a gift from God. Her presence will eternally remain in the hearts of her family and friends. She will live on through the memories and laughter of her loved ones.
Per Ferol's wishes, all arrangements were private. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Anthony's Bread Apostolate which Ferol was a benevolent member of for many years (836 Sanders Avenue, Scotia NY 12302).
