COLONIE – Evan M. Hoy, 20, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, February 6, 2018.
Evan was born in Schenectady on December 8, 1997, a son of Matthew R. Hoy and Suzanne M. (Kowalczyk) Hoy. He was raised and educated in Scotia. His passion for cooking led him to becoming a Chief de Partie at local restaurants and most recently at 677 Prime. He was an avid reader and a master of his video games. He enjoyed concerts and his visits to Disney with his family.
Evan was kind, grateful, loving and had a zeal for life and those he loved.
He was predeceased by his grandmother, Marilyn Briggs; and an aunt, Kelly Kowalczyk.
He is survived by those he loved and respected; his father, Matt Hoy and his wife Yvonne, of Colonie; his mother, Suzanne Gray and her husband Chris, of Glenville; siblings, Ray, Anthony, Jamie, Sarah, Tyler and Jack; grandparents, "Pops" John and "Grams" Nancy Kowalczyk and William Briggs and Gary and Gail Gray; his cherished cousin, "Ta" Samantha Kowalczyk; many other family members, friends and colleagues.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street on Friday from 3 to 7 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Evans memory to the Brain Injury Association of NYS at bianys.org
