SCHENECTADY – Emily Berti Isgro, 90, of Elton Avenue, died Saturday afternoon after a brief illness.
Emily was born in Schenectady on November 4, 1927, the daughter of James and Maria Moschini Berti.
Emily graduated from Nott Terrace High School, class of 1946. She had worked for ALCO Products for several years prior to her 38 year employment with Price Chopper, where she was Head Cashier. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony’s Church.
Emily was predeceased by her parents; her beloved husband, Joseph A. Isgro whom she married April 15, 1950 and he died March 5, 2006; her loving brother Armando Berti; her brothers-in-law Father Salvatore Isgro and Carmen Isgro.
Emily is survived by her devoted son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Cindy Isgro of Schenectady; cherished grandmother of Matthew & Kelly Isgro of Rotterdam and Katie Isgro; great-grandmother of Hailey Isgro; sister-in-law of Elsie Berti, Anthony Isgro and Angelina Isgro; longtime friend Gert DeMasi; several nieces and nephews.
Services Wednesday morning at 10am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street and then to St Anthony’s Church, Seward Place where a Mass will be celebrated at 11am.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8PM. Interment will be in St John the Baptist Cemetery.
