SCHENECTADY- The Lord has called our beloved mother home, Edith Joyce St. John- DeCesare, born February 2, 1919 passed on February 1, 2013, with the love and support of her family by her side.
Edith was born the daughter of the late Ralph and Concetta Vergine -St. John. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Jack DeCesare who she married on April 18, 1948, her siblings, Molly Sabatini, Rose Cecchetti, Lawrence and Victor St. John Her in-laws Edward Sabatini, Felix Cecchetti, Joseph and Carmela Bonanno, Nicholas and Anna DeCesare, James and Angelina Rinaldi. Her mother-in-law and father-in-law Maria Santa and Joseph DeCesare.
Left to cherish her memories are her loving daughters, Denise Bellino and her husband Joseph, and Maria DeCesare. Her adoring grandchildren, Nicole and her husband Michael Giambrone, Patrick Bellino and his wife Paige. Her beloved great-grandchildren, Jack and Michael Giambrone, who always looked forward to Grandma's goody bags. Her brother Joseph St. John and his wife Frances, a special niece Roberta Turner, her in-laws Esther and John Miller, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and her dear friend Mary Wilk with whom she spent many happy moments with.
Edith was educated in the Schenectady School System and worked for the former Barney's clothing store and Wallace Co. She relocated to California where she and her husband resided for 20 years. Edith was a kind and loving woman, devoted to her family and friends. She enjoyed antiquing, bowling, and was an avid decorator. During the baseball season you would find Edith watching her favorite team, the New York Yankees.
A Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Church, Seward Place on Monday, February 4th at 11am, relatives and friends are invited to attend. There will be no calling hours.

The Family would also like to extend a special thank you to Hospice for their caring and compassion during this time of sorrow.
