SCHENECTADY – Edith I. “Pell” Pellegrino, 86, entered peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Ellis Hospital.
Edith was born in Schenectady on January 15, 1932, a daughter of the late Anthony and Margaret Bell Pellegrino. She graduated from Nott Terrace High School, class of 1950. She owned and operated the Press Box Restaurant in Schenectady’s Downtown and later Expressions Gift and Card Shoppe in Woodlawn. Edith was a loving, generous and vibrant woman with impeccable taste.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Isabel Glennon, Joseph Pellegrino, Theresa Robbins, Margaret Mell and Mary Ciesielski.
She is survived by her devoted nephews and nieces, Marie Farina, Donald Glennon, Ralph Lanzetti, Linda (Derryl) Coleman, Karen Mell, Gary (Seline) Mell and Mark (Lynn) Mell; several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Service will be held on Wednesday at 12 noon at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, with Fr. Richard Carlino, officiating. Interment will follow in Vale Cemetery.
Relatives and Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 am until the service.
