Dorothy Cavaliere Falvo

SCHENECTADY – Dorothy Cavaliere Falvo, of Schenectady, peacefully entered into the arms of the Lord on Sunday at Ellis Hospital, after a brief illness.
Dorothy was born in Schenectady on April 22, 1928, daughter of the late Angelo and Constance Campano Cavaliere. She was a graduate of both Nott Terrace High School and Mildred Elley Business School. Dorothy worked as a young girl in the family business Cavaliere's, on VanVranken Avenue, and later for many years alongside her husband Jack at Schenectady Auto Service. In 1980, after working and raising her six children, Dorothy and Jack relocated to Siesta Key, FL where they became Property Managers of a condominium association and she worked towards and received her real estate license. They returned home in 1990 and managed One Broadway Center, retiring in 1996. Dorothy was a lively spirited woman. She devoted herself to her family; she was proud of their accomplishments and the values they possess. She loved to cook and taught her children and grandchildren her family's many traditional Italian recipes. She was an avid golfer and golfed with the Golfbusters League. She was a devoted communicant of St. Anthony's Church, worked the annual Festa and with the kitchen crew. She was most proud to be an honorary board member of the Jack Falvo III Foundation.
She was predeceased in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Jack Falvo, Sr. whom she married August 22, 1948 until his death on September 4, 2009; siblings, Carl Cavaliere, Lee Rockefeller, Angelo Cavaliere, Jr. and Marion Lattanzio and her precious grandson, Jack Falvo III.
Dorothy is survived by her devoted children, Jacky and Stan Norman, Nicholas and Denise Falvo, Janice and John Abbale, Jack Jr. and Kathleen Falvo, John and Julia Falvo and Jean and Patrick Neville; loving grandchildren, Jeffrey Norman, Jason and Janet Norman, Nicholas Falvo, Natalie Falvo, Rebecca and Adam Leonardo, Eric Abbale, Brian and Colleen Abbale, Jared, Jessica, Sarah, Nicole and Lisa Falvo; adoring great-grandchildren, Jackie O'Connell, Cole and Reagan Leonardo; devoted siblings, Edith Furman and Richard and Marianne Cavaliere; many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws and dear friends.
A Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 am at St. Anthony's Church, Seward Place. Interment will follow at the Falvo Family Plot in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at St. Anthony's Church, 331 Seward Place, Tuesday evening from 4 to 8 pm.
