Dorothy M. Carrierio

SCHENECTADY – Dorothy Colucci Carrieri, 84, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Ellis Hospital.
Dorothy was born in Schenectady a daughter of the late Albert and Mildred Musco Colucci. She graduated from Nott Terrace High School and received her associates' degree. She worked as a secretary for Allstate and became a district manager for Avon Products. After retiring she worked for Orange Motors/Touey Associates.
She was a gentle, loving, and caring woman. Dorothy was devoted to her family, friends and her faith. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church.
Bruce would like to thank the nursing staff on C1 at Ellis Hospital and Dorothy's aide's Wanda McBride, Francine Smith and especially Linda Martin for her devoted, loving and compassionate care.
Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband Michael Carrieri and her sisters-in-law, Nicoletta Carrieri, Mary Sabatini and Gina Carrieri.
She is survived by her devoted son, Bruce Carrieri, of Schenectady; sisters-in-law, Helen Lazzari and Catherine "Kitty" Fanales, both of Schenectady; grandson, Michael Carrieri, of Rotterdam and Christine Lasch, of Albany; great-granddaughter, Avery Lasch. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 9 am at St. John the Evangelist Church, Union Street. Interment will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
Memorial contribution may be made in Dorothy's memory to Alzheimer's Association, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, NY 12205.
