Donna Marie Wilber

February 12, 1947 — October 18, 2014

SCHENECTADY – Donna M. Wilber, 67, entered into eternal rest on Saturday October 18th at Ellis Hospital, after a brief illness.
Donna was born in Troy on February 12, 1947 the daughter of the late Patrick and Catherine Pieniazek Derenzo. She attended local schools and was a 1965 graduate of Linton High School. She started her working career in the Chancellors Office at SUNY. She enjoyed taking college courses, to enhance her already efficient skills. She started working for the General Electric in the large motor division and eventually switched to an administrative assistant with MAO and most currently with Bechtel, until her retirement. Donna was a gentle and kind loving woman. She enjoyed cooking and making the holidays most special for those she loved so dearly. Donna enjoyed vacationing at the family camp on Woodstock Lake and her visits to the casino's.
She was predeceased by her parents and a brother Joseph P. Derenzo.
Donna is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, John E. Wilber; loving children, Cathy Russell and her husband Scott, of Halfmoon and John Wilber and his wife Kelly, of Niskayuna; a brother Patrick Derenzo, Jr.; adoring grandchildren, Adriana Barakat, Olivia Russell, Ashley and Ryan Wilber; many nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law also survive.
Services will be held on Wednesday at 9 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets and then to St. John the Evangelist Church, Union Street, where a Mass will be celebrated at 10am. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm.
