SCHENECTADY – Domenic Capoccia, 58, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 30, 2023, at Ellis Hospital, after a long and hard-fought battle with kidney disease.
Domenic was born in Schenectady, a devoted son of the late Giustino and Angelina DiCarlo Capoccia. He was a 1982 graduate of Linton High School and attended HVCC pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering. Domenic was a talented master mason, he learned his trade and worked alongside some of the best tradesmen on the Northside. He owned and operated Northeastern Contracting. An entrepreneur, Domenic with his three sons, started and operated Capoccia Winery in Niskayuna. Teaching his boys to dream and to persevere, and working tirelessly alongside them to achieve their goals. His family was his devotion; he taught them strength, heritage, and love. Domenic loved fishing with his sons; playing with his grandchildren, and was a volunteer firefighter in Rexford.
He is survived by his devoted sons, Nicholas (Kayla) Capoccia, Justin (Kerry) Capoccia, and Michael Capoccia; grandchildren, Aria and Gianna Capoccia; dear friend and former wife, Rossana Zarrillo Capoccia; numerous other family members and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union St on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm.
Services will be held on Thursday at 11 am at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
