TROY - David A. Stevens, Jr., entered peacefully into eternal rest on July 20, 2025, after a period of illness. Born on April 27, 1951, in the Town of Groveland, he was the beloved son of the late David A. Stevens, Sr. and Carolyn Roden Stevens.
A graduate of Tamarac High School, David served his country in the United States Army. He later attended Hudson Valley Community College and went on to live a life of service to others.
David worked as a paramedic for Mohawk Ambulance in Troy, a role he held with deep commitment, as well as being a dedicated volunteer firefighter for the Town of Brunswick; he concluded his career working for the New York State Office of General Services.
Beyond his professional life, David enjoyed golfing and played in the Freer Park Golf league on Thursday’s He deeply valued his roots in the community, where his family had been a steady and caring presence for generations.
David will be remembered for his courage, service, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life.
David is survived by his daughters, Dayna (Scott) Cummings, and Jamie Stevens; grandchildren, Layla Cummings, Cali and Lorenzo Santoni; siblings, Douglas (Susan) Stevens and Wendy Stevens; nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be held on Friday, August 8th from 3-7 pm at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, Schenectady, NY.
Funeral Services will be held at on Saturday, August 9th at 10 am at Brunswick Church, 42 White Church Lane, Troy, NY.
Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery.
