ROTTERDAM – David L. Ody, 68, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at home after a lengthy illness.
David was born in Schenectady, a son of the late Charles and Christine Caracciolo Ody, Sr. He attended Mohonasen High School and was employed as a heavy equipment operator for the Schenectady County Highway Department. He retired as a supervisor in 2011 after 36 years of service. Dave was an avid bowler; he bowled in the City Catholic League at Boulevard Bowl and with leagues Donato’s Sportsman’s Bowl. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and visiting casinos. David’s life revolved around the joy he found in his family; he cherished the time he spent with them and especially being a part of his daughter and grandson’s life events.
In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his son, Michael Ody, and siblings, Charlotte, Richard, and Rose Marie Ody.
He is survived by the love of his life, Teresa Corvino Ody, whom he just celebrated 47 years of marriage with on February 28th; loving daughter, Michele (Chris) DesChamps; grandsons, Alex Ody and Ethan DesChamps; brothers, Charles Ody, Jr. and Robert (Patricia) Ody; in-laws, Heidi Ody and Alfonso Corvino; a special niece, Rosie Bigelow; and several nephews and nieces.
Services will be held on Thursday at 1 pm at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, with Fr. Dominic Isopo, officiating. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Thursday from 11 am until the service.
