ROTTERDAM – Daniel R. Masterpole, 93, entered into eternal rest, on Saturday at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center.
Daniel was born in Rotterdam Junction, a son of the late Anthony and Katherine Margetta Masterpolo. He attended Woestina School. Daniel enlisted in the US Army, and honorably served his Country during WWII with the 182nd Infantry Regiment, in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. He worked for the Watervliet Arsenal, as a carpenter’s helper, retiring after 38 years of dedicated service. After retirement, Daniel worked for the Schenectady Department of Motor Vehicles as a supply and records clerk. He was a faithful communicant of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish.
Daniel was predeceased by his siblings, Frederick Masterpolo, Michael Masterpolo, Josephine Fasula and Philomena Isabella.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 65 years, Evelyn Zemken Masterpole; his loving children, Cheryl Masterpole, of Schenectady and Mark Masterpole and his wife Valerie, of Richmond, VT; adoring grandchildren, Richard Steele, Paul Steele and Crystal Michalak and her husband Andrew; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Anthony Masterpolo; beloved nieces, Dawn Deyo and Hope Splittgerber and a dear nephew Brian LaGuardia.
Services will be private.
