SCHENECTADY – Claude A. ‘Cliz-o’ Anderson, IV, 46, friend to all, passed away at Ellis Hospital on Saturday, January 14, 2023, after a long and courageous, well-fought battle.
Claude was born in Albany, on September 22, 1976, a son of Claude Anderson, III, and Cynthia Smith. He graduated from Guilderland High School. Claude was a jack of all trades, especially with his meticulous craftsmanship in carpentry. With his keen eye and self-taught skills, Claude owned and operated his own construction company. He had the respect of many in the industry. Claude also excelled in sports; he was the captain of his high school baseball team and played high school and Belmont Pop Warner football. He enjoyed vacationing on the Cape and was an avid fisherman.
Claude was a fun, loving, kind, and generous man. He always felt fortunate for his accomplishments, and in return, gave back to his Schenectady community. He was known to give free haircuts to neighborhood kids and once felt the pain of a new mom without a stroller and immediately made sure she was taken care of. With his helping ways, Claude often spoke of becoming a drug counselor; again, always wanting to give of himself.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Anna Anderson Tucker, Gordon Smith, and Claude Anderson, II; a sister, Tammy Anderson; niece, RéAnna Anderson and his aunt Emma Jean Anderson.
Claude leaves behind to mourn his passing, his mother, Cynthia Smith; father, Claude (Sharon) Anderson, III, daughters, Raquelle Cridelle, Jasmine Cridelle, Gia Anderson (and her mom Beth Ann Keneston Anderson) and Destinee Anderson (and her mom, Kelsie Ridge); siblings, Joey (Kayla) Anderson, Matt Anderson, Odessa (Promize) Page, Nikita Anderson, Mariah (Pop) Ventura and Shawn Anderson; nieces and nephews, Taynna, Orlando, Corina, Issiah, Julian, Jovanni, Christian, LA
