Cindy Fenton Dethorne

GLENVILLE – Cindy E. DeThorne, 61, passed peacefully and acceptingly into the Arms of the Lord on Thursday, September 1, 2016.
Cindy was born in Rochester on June 20, 1955, a daughter of the late Roger Fenton and Patricia (Bertram) Fenton. She was educated locally and was a 1974 graduate of Ballston Spa High School. She worked many years as a unit clerk at Ellis Hospital.
Cindy was a genuinely compassionate woman whose selfless acts of kindness, love, dedication and service to others will be her legacy left to those she cherished.
She is survived and so dearly loved by; her beloved husband, Michael DeThorne whom she wed on May 6, 1978; loving children, Scott (Kate) DeThorne and Shaunna (Randy) Starr; her grandchildren, whom she treasured, Gavyn Starr, Morgan DeThorne, Reece Starr and Ava Grace DeThorne; her mother, Patricia (Bertram) Fenton; siblings, Bill (Dani) Fenton, Laurie (John) Whalen, Christina Denton; her mother-in-law, Jacklyn DeThorne; and many wonderful, brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
The DeThorne family is appreciative to Dr. Goodman and the staff at Upstate Hematology and Oncology for their dedication, enduring care, kindness and support throughout Cindy's journey.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union St., on Saturday from 2 to 6 pm.
