Charles R. 'Chuck' Evans

ROTTERDAM – Charles R. ‘Chuck’ Evans, 74, passed away at home on Tuesday, January 13, 2026,

Chuck was born in Niskayuna, the son of the late Charles and Jean (Lyons) Evans. He was a 1969 graduate of Mohonasen High School and later attended Schenectady County Community College. Chuck spent 30 years with the United States Postal Service, first as a carrier and later as a mail handler, before retiring. Chuck was a natural athlete and enjoyed staying active, especially playing softball, bowling, and golfing. But nothing brought him more joy than his family. He truly loved being a father and grandfather and cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren. Always smiling and full of gratitude, Chuck often said he was the luckiest man alive to have such a beautiful blended family, and he made sure they knew just how much they meant to him.

He was predeceased by his brother, James Evans and his longtime companion, Patricia Barone.

Chuck is survived by his loving children, Christopher (Michelle) Evans, Lisa LaFond, and Jason Evans; grandson, Gabriel Evans; sister, Nancy (John) Hargraves; nieces and nephews, Laurie Reuter, Dr. Rachel (David) Hargraves, John Hargraves, and Joshua (Faith) Evans; Patricia’s children, Anthony Barone, and Angela (Justin) Zwick, and her children, Leonard, Annabelle, Thomas, Arthur and Ashleigh.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street.

Services will be held on Friday at 10:30 am at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Rogers, officiating.

Interment will be in Memory Gardens.
