Carmella A. Coppola

SCHENECTADY – Carmella Coppola, 94, a lifelong servant of God, entered into eternal peace at home on Saturday, January 20, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Carm was born on October 8, 1923, a daughter of the late Pasquale and Appolonia LaVecchia Coppola. She was a 1943 graduate of Nott Terrace High School and supported the efforts of the family business Coppola Brothers Refuse. She was a faithful communicant of St. Anthony's Church, a member of the Sacred Heart League, an annual Festa worker, and a weekly kitchen worker. A most kind and tender loving women, Carm devoted herself to her family, community and faith.
She was predeceased by her loving siblings; Anthony "Mickey" (Celia), Ralph (Anne), John, Mario (Yolanda), Michael (Theresa), Coppola, Lucy (Anthony) Guerriero, Louis, Angelo and Ann Coppola.
Carm is survived by her loving sister-in-law, Rose Coppola; fourteen devoted nieces and nephews, and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday at 10 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union St, then to St. Anthony's Church, where a Mass will be celebrated at11 am. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 7 pm.
The Coppola family is grateful to Carm's aide's for their care, comfort and dignity in allowing Carm to stay in her home where she spent 94 glorious years.
Memorial contributions may be made in Carmella's memory to St. Anthony's Church, 331 Seward Place, Schenectady, NY 12305.
