Carmella Cannizzo Armstrong
November 27, 1925 — January 5, 2013
NISKAYUNA- Carmella B. Armstrong, 87, passed peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday at the Glendale Home.
Carmella, a daughter of the late Frank and Chloe Lyon Cannizzo was born and educated in Gloversville. She was a devoted homemaker to her husband and six children. Carmella was the office manager and business partner with her husband for many years at ERA Business Machines on Jay Street.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Elton Armstrong and a brother Croce Cannizzo and his wife Rose.
She is survived by her loving children, Carol Nemes and her husband Walter, of Agawam, MA, Constance Penton, of Bush, LA, Dale Armstrong, of Cape Coral, FL, Marie Yager and her husband David, of Niskayuna, Donald Armstrong, of Northville and Michael Armstrong, of Middleburgh, NY; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy and Pete Nelli, Alma and Anthony Christman and Edna and Anthony Caruso.
Carmella's family is so very grateful to the staff at the Glendale Home and Community Hospice, for the kind and compassionate care of their mom.
Private services will be held Wednesday at the Rossi & Ditoro, Union at N. Jay Streets with Pastor Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Carmella's memory to the American Diabetes Association.
