On this day, April 23rd, 2018, Carlita C. Miano, 84 years old, went home to the Blessed Lord and to be at eternal peace after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Carlita was surrounded by her forever love, Angelo, along with their loving children.
Carlita was born September 28, 1933 in Staten Island, New York to Mose and Adeline Maryea. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by 6 Brothers and 2 Sisters. After losing her mother at a very young age, Carlita was grateful to her sister Priscilla (Pete) for stepping in to care for her and forever cherished their special bond.
Carlita was a homemaker who loved to care for her family.
Carlita loved her special moments shared with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending countless hours at the Casinos; playing poker with her family and summer picnics at Saratoga State Park. During the retirement years, she enjoyed traveling to Florida for the winter months with her husband and spending time on Cape Cod during the summer with her children.
Carlita was also predeceased by her baby son, Joseph Angelo.
Carlita leaves behind her true love of more than 60 years, Angelo Miano. Her son, Michael Miano, daughters, Gloria (Thomas) Galaviz, Grace Polsinelli (Peter Salat), Carlita (Robert) Barnes, Antoinette Johnson, Angela (Mark) Clute and Catherine (Joe) O'Brien. Grandchildren: Karissa Miano, Tommy(Ashley) Galaviz, Nicholas (Irina) Polsinelli, Teresa (Dan) Griffen, Dana Polsinelli, Riley Barnes, Connor Barnes, Bradley Johnson, Grace Johnson, Michael Monforte, Alyssa Clute, Kailyn O'Brien and Briana O'Brien and 5 Great-Grandchildren.
Services will be held on Friday at 8:30 am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, then to St. Anthony's Church, Seward Place where a Mass will be celebrated at 9:30am. Entombment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm.
Contributions in Carlita's name can be made to American Lung Association or Community Hospice.
