Biagio Polsinelli

July 23, 1926 — July 23, 2010

NISKAYUNA – Biagio Polsinelli, 84, died Friday July 23 at Ellis Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Biagio was an incredible man that could be described in so many different ways: a respectful, loyal son; a loving devoted husband; an amazing, giving father and grandfather; an honorable, compassionate friend.
He was born the fifth of seven children on November 13, 1925 in Carnello, Italy to Vincenzo and Antonia Petti Polsinelli. He immigrated to America in 1938. He settled in Schenectady with his parents and siblings, learned a new language and culture and became a US citizen.
Working hard was a way of life for Biagio, beginning with his parents’ dairy farm and then branching out on his own as a builder and developer. He was an active member of the Builders Association and developed areas in Niskayuna, Rotterdam and Guilderland – building roads, houses and apartment buildings that are thriving to this day.
Biagio not only successfully built homes and neighborhoods for others, but he built a wonderful life, full of family, love and laughter. He met and married the love of his life, Vincenza Pennacchia, in 1950.
Through the years of his sacrifice, a strong work ethic and dedication to living an honest, good and generous life, Biagio was always the light that shined on our lives. His sense of humor, good nature and always-present, contagious smile, he touched people with his warmth. He was an extraordinary man who had the unique ability to build and maintain friendships and relationships that lasted a lifetime.
Biagio had a positive energy that just poured into everything around him. Beyond his undying love for his family, he was an avid sportsman who loved hunting and fishing, he enjoyed gardening, his fruit trees and wine making. Biagio was never a man to sit still, stay indoors or waste valuable time. He lived life to the fullest and taught his family the meaning of hard work, fun, adventure, decency, stability and laughter.
Biagio was predeceased by his siblings, the late Federico Polsinelli, Clemente Polsinelli, Philomena Valentine and Peter Polsinelli.
Biagio is survived by his wife Vincenza; children; Vincenzo Polsinelli and his wife Francesca Bellù, of New York City, Maria Molyneaux and her husband Richard of Niskayuna; Frederico Polsinelli and his wife Denise of Guilderland, Biagio Polsinelli Jr. and his wife Josephine of Guilderland, and his youngest daughter, Antonette Polsinelli of Deerfield Beach, FL. He was a remarkable role model to his nine grandchildren, Frederico Jr., Michael, Alisha, Nicholas, Christian, Christopher, Vincenzo, Stephen and Gregory. He was also a loving brother of Angela Serafini and Lucia Polsinelli.
The Polsinelli family would like to thank Fr. Richard Carlino; Sr. Maria Rosa; his Doctors; Staff at Ellis Hospital; the Visiting Nurses Service Organization and Community Hospice for the wonderful care and support of Biagio.
