Bettymae Belli

ROTTERDAM – BettyMae Belli, 75, passed away at Ellis Hospital on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, with her loving family at her bedside.
BettyMae was born in Scotia on June 9, 1948, the daughter of the late Frank and EllaMae Pangburn Hildreth. She graduated from Scotia-Glenville High School, class of 1967. She was a Certified Nursing Aide for over 30 years, caring for many individuals at Silver Haven and Ellis Long Term Care and a local Avon Representative.
BettyMae felt blessed to be a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was her treasure. She was an avid bowler, bowling and participating in the officer's duties, in three leagues at Sportsman’s Bowl; the Rockets, Monday’s Funnies, and KAPL; she was known as a card shark, and enjoyed a friendly game of pinochle; loved jigsaw puzzles; camping at Debra Lee Trailer Haven on Sacandaga Lake and a lover of all animals.
BettyMae was a faithful communicant of St. Gabriel’s and St. Madeline Sophie Churches; and a 41-year member of the Carman Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, 12 years of which she served as President.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Joseph E. Belli; and brothers, Merritt Hildreth and Leon Hildreth.
She is survived by her loving sons, Jeffrey Belli, Michael Belli, and Frank (Kristen) Belli; two grandchildren, who were the light of her life, Brandon, and Natalie Belli; siblings, Charles Hildreth, Marion Rounds, Barbara A. Sargalis, Shirley Rue and Al (Nancy) Hildreth; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald (Arlene) Belli and Agatha Belli Novak and the late Dr. Michael Novak; her four-legged companions, Brutus, Kringle and Kali; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who she cared so dearly for and considered family.
Services will be held on Saturday morning at 9am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Madeline Sophie Church, at 10am. Interment will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Friday from 3 to 7 pm.
