Bessie Rotonde Bodak

SCOTIA – Peacefully in her sleep, Bessie Rotonde Bodak, beloved daughter, sister, wife, and mother, passed away on February 27, 2022.
Bessie was born on February 22, 1926, to Dr. Mary A. (Calvano) Rotundo and Joseph Rotundo. She attended schools in Gloversville, Brooklyn, and graduated from Drake Business College and American Institute of Banking, both in NYC. Upon relocating to Schenectady, Bessie worked as an executive secretary in the science and engineering departments at General Electric Company until marriage and children. Bessie married John Bodak on February 10, 1961, and celebrated61 years of marriage.
Predeceasing Bessie is her mother, Dr. Mary A. Rotonde; her father Joseph Rotonde, and her sister, Lena Rotonde.
Surviving are her husband John Bodak; daughters, Mary Jo Vlainich (Nicholas); Dorothea Palmer (Michael); son Joseph Bodak; several grand and great-grandchildren, and many cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11 AM on Friday, March 4, 2022, at St Michael’s Tridentine Catholic Chapel, 507 Route 9W, Glenmont. Burial to follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Schenectady.
