Rotterdam- Arthur passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026 after a short illness.

Arthur was born November 30, 1932 to Arthur Sr and Agnes Mae (Bovaird) DeBraccio. Characteristic of a true child of the Depression years, he started working at a young age and never stopped. He once made a list of all of his occupations but stopped at the twentieth when he grew tired of writing. As a Korean War veteran, he supported veteran’s causes, and downplayed his own contributions given his humble nature. He married his beloved wife Barbara (Walsh) in 1964 and they were a wonderful example of a loving partnership. Arthur, or Junior as he was also known, worked at Albany Airport in the 60’s and then began a long career with Caterpillar (Albany) until he retired in 1987. After his retirement, he continued working various trades and driving jobs, at entities such as a senior care facility, appliance repair shop, NYS Labor Department, an asphalt company, an outdoor equipment business, and his own business. Every company was sorry to see such a dedicated, reliable employee go, but due to his wife’s illness he finally retired (again!) at 91. Arthur and Barbara were faithful members of St. Madeleine Sophie Church in Guilderland for many years. Arthur was predeceased by his parents, his stepmother Margaret and his brother Ken. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his two sons Brian and Gregg (Linda) and grandson Alex (Laura) and nieces Denise and Danielle. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be donated to Community Hospice (who allowed Arthur to stay home with family) at 445 New Karner Rd, Albany NY 12205. The family would specifically like to thank nurses Lori, Lou and Jaime for their skill and care for Arthur during his final weeks. Services will be announced later in the spring.
