SCHENECTADY – Antoinette Valentino Marotta, 82, passed peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday at Ellis Hospital, surrounded by her adoring family.
Antoinette was born in Mechanicville on June 30, 1929 a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Marano Valentino. She was a graduate of Mechanicville High School. Antoinette was a loving and caring homemaker, devoting her life to her husband and five wonderful sons. She was a longtime communicant of St. Anthony's Church and worked the annual feasta for many years.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas P. Marotta whom she married October 29, 1950 and died May 2, 2009; her loving son Joseph Marotta and siblings, Mary Valentino, Carmen Valentino, Anthony 'Pastie' Valentino and John Valentino
She is survived by her loving and devoted sons, Thomas A. Marotta and his wife Paula, of Saratoga Springs, David M. Marotta and his wife Judy, of Schenectady, Dean M. Marotta and his wife Colette, of Ballston Lake and Michael Marotta, of Schenectady; cherished grandchildren, Dennis, Christopher and his wife Dee, Sarah, Jacob, Giovanna, Vincent and Bianca Rose Marotta and Christopher Powers; great granddaughter Maya Marotta; sisters, Virginia Polsinelli and husband Lewis, of Scotia and Rose DeVito, of Mechanicville; sister-in-law, Genevieve Weekes and her husband Jim, of Rotterdam; many dear nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held Friday morning at 9 am at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Street and then to St. Anthony's Church were a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am. Interment will follow in Sts. Cyril & Method Cemetery, Rotterdam.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm.
