GLENVILLE – Anthony S. Randazzo, 83, died peacefully at St. Peter's Hospice, on Saturday with his loving family at his side.
Anthony was born in Schenectady, the son of the late Frank and Rose Guisto Randazzo. He was a 1947 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. Anthony worked for the gas turbine department of the General Electric Company and retired after 39 years of service in 1986. Anthony was a member of the G.E. Quarter Century club as well as the G.E. Salaried Employee Association. He was an honorary member of the Rotary Club of Scotia; an Honorary life member of the Lt. Gov. Thomas W. Wallace Assembly 4th Degree Knights of Columbus; an Honorary life member of the Glenville Knights of Columbus Council 10013; Past Grand Knight of Schenectady Knights of Columbus as No. 201 and also past Faithful Navigator of the Lt. Gov. Thomas W. Wallace. He was the former district deputy of the New York State Council Knights of Columbus and past New York State Chairman of the student loan committee. He was a communicant of Church of the Immaculate Conception.
Tony was predeceased by his siblings, Louise, Mary, Ann Marie Randazzo, Helen Puliafico and Louise Martini.
He is survived by his nieces Jeane and her husband Richard Barnes, Carolyn Cary, Rosemary and her husband Louis Mazzone, a nephew Frederick and his wife Gail Puliafico; many great nieces, nephews, great-great nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Thursday morning at 10am from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Street and then to St. Anthony's Church, Seward Place, where a Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Schenectady.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home Thursday morning from 9 to 10 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Anthony's memory to the American Cancer Society or to the National Diabetes Association.
